A shirt, as a rule, consists of a collar, shelves, back, yoke, sleeves, gusset (a triangular piece of fabric sewn at the base of the sleeve, between the shelf and the back). There are shirts with short (up to the elbow) and long (up to the wrist) sleeves.

Among the shirts with long sleeves, there are shirts with cuffs for buttons and shirts with cuffs for cufflinks.

Most shirts have a single pocket on the left side, and those designed for everyday wear (informal) may additionally have a pocket on the right side, the presence of a flap on which, in turn, makes the shirt even less formal.
